Larsen Scores 100% With National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare

Everett, WA – Today the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare released their official scorecard that lists Rick Larsen with a 100% voting record.

“Rick Larsen’s voting record proves that he believes in strengthening our Social Security system.” said Brooke Davis, Campaign Manger for Rick Larsen. “Rick Larsen’s record is clear; he votes to protect the guaranteed benefit upon which Northwest Washington families depend. Rick Larsen knows we owe it to future generations to keep Social Security solvent and not take unnecessary risks with it,” Davis concluded.

In contrast, earlier this year Rick’s opponent John Koster acknowledged his support for privatization going back at least a decade: “I advocated for those ten years ago,” Koster said. Koster believes “individual retirement accounts will work.”

“John Koster’s record is also clear. He advocated for Social Security privatization over ten years ago,” said Davis. “Just because Koster’s finally realized voters are upset with his scheme to reduce Social Security benefits and gamble seniors’ retirement security on Wall Street, doesn’t make his support for privatizing Social Security any less true.”
