These issues require a Congress that will take action
I want to discuss what this election means for working families in Northwest Washington and across the country.
Costs continue to rise faster than paychecks. Health care, housing, groceries, child care, and gasoline all take up more of a family's budget than they did a few years ago. For many households in our region, these are not minor inconveniences. They determine whether someone can afford a doctor's visit, stay current on rent, or keep up with the basic cost of getting to work. This moment calls for a Congress willing to treat it as the urgent problem it is.
At the same time, folks are seeing an administration that has worked to undermine the Affordable Care Act, pushed tariff policies that have hurt farmers and small businesses, and taken actions that test the limits of our Constitution.
These are not separate issues from affordability. When health coverage becomes less secure, when tariffs raise the price of everyday goods, and when basic governing norms are ignored, working families are the ones who bear the cost.
This is why taking back the House matters. A Democratic majority is necessary to hold this administration accountable, to protect the programs working families depend on, and to defend our democracy. Without that majority, the damage already being done to household budgets and to our constitutional system will continue unchecked.
With Election Day only days away, I am asking for your help in this final push. Your contribution right now will fund the work required to reach undecided voters, encourage turnout among supporters, and make sure every voter in Northwest Washington has what they need to make their voice heard.
Your support in these final days will help ensure my grassroots campaign has the resources to reach every voter before Election Day and take back the House.
More soon,
Rick
