A Congress that solves problems rather than creating them
It is official: we are one month from Election Day. That means we have just 31 days to reach every voter in Northwest Washington who cares about the direction of this country.
Each day between now and November 3 is an opportunity to talk with a neighbor, welcome someone new into this campaign, and make sure voters across Island, San Juan, Skagit, Whatcom, and western Snohomish counties understand what is at stake.
For me, this election is about returning to the work that improves people's lives.
That includes lowering prescription drug and health care costs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and defending the Affordable Care Act. It means delivering the infrastructure investments Northwest Washington depends on, from ferries and roads to transit and freight corridors. And it means supporting good-paying jobs and ensuring our region receives its fair share of federal resources.
All of that requires a Congress that solves problems rather than creating them.
We have one month to make that case to voters, to organize our neighborhoods, and to build the resources required to win here in Northwest Washington. How will you do your part to help make this happen in the next month?
More soon,
Rick
P.S. A note on returning your ballot: Washington operates one of the strongest vote-by-mail systems in the nation. However, recent changes to United States Postal Service transportation operations mean some mail may not receive a postmark on the day it is mailed. For this reason, voters are encouraged not to wait until the final days before Election Day.
Voters may mail their ballot with sufficient time for a postmark on or before November 3, or they may avoid the mail altogether by placing their ballot in an official drop box located in their county. Drop box locations are available through the Washington Secretary of State's website or through your county elections office.
