More than abstract legal disputes

You have probably received several messages from me in the last few weeks about how to ensure your vote is counted. The right to vote is fundamental to our democracy. But right now, the rules governing our elections are being challenged in courts and changed across the country.

Just this month, the Justice Department has sought detailed voter-registration data from states, while the Trump administration has fought in court to impose new restrictions on voting by mail.

These fights have real consequences: for voters' access to the ballot, for election officials trying to administer free and fair elections, and for public confidence in our democracy.

And the stakes go far beyond November.

The Congress elected in 2026 will help determine how our elections are administered, how congressional districts are drawn, and what safeguards protect voting rights before the 2028 presidential election. We must take back control of the House, and we cannot do that without the support of people like you.

Congress will also make decisions that affect our everyday lives — from the cost of groceries, health care, housing, and child care, to the government's ability to hold this administration accountable.

We need leaders in Congress who will protect the right to vote, uphold democratic institutions, and fight for policies that make a real difference in people's lives. The 2026 election will help determine who has the power to make those decisions.
