Are you ready for the August 4 primary?
In less than a month, primary ballots will begin arriving in mailboxes across Northwest Washington.
That is why I am reaching out today with a simple reminder: be on the lookout for your ballot and make your plan to vote.
Before ballots arrive, take a few minutes to make sure you are ready to participate in the August 4 primary election:
1️⃣ Check your registration status.
2️⃣ Verify that your name, address, and other details are correct.
3️⃣ Spread the word! Encourage your friends, family, and community to do the same.
Washington's vote-by-mail system makes it easy to participate, but every year some voters wait until the last minute or discover an issue with their registration after ballots have been mailed.
Your voter registration may become out of date for a variety of reasons, including a change of address, a change of name, and voter inactivity. Some states update voter rolls on a regular basis, and if a person has been inactive for a long time without voting or responding to election-related notices, their registration may be considered inactive or purged.
When your ballot arrives, do not set it aside for later. Take a few minutes to fill it out and return it as soon as you are ready.
Thank you for participating in our democracy and helping ensure Northwest Washington's voice is heard.
More soon,
Rick
