What I learned volunteering at food banks
A few weeks ago, I visited food banks around Northwest Washington to help volunteers and discuss the future of federal food assurance programs.

When the Trump administration refused to fund SNAP benefits, our communities stepped up.
Even though the government is now open, food banks still need our help. While talking to volunteers and employees, I learned the Lynwood food bank has seen a 23% increase in need just this month. I saw other food banks meeting their average daily numbers halfway through the day.

If you are looking for a place to volunteer this holiday season, please consider a local food bank.
More soon,
Rick
