I’m proud to stand alongside this organization in advocating for gender equality.

by Rick Larsen

I am proud to announce that I have earned the endorsement of the National Organization for Women (NOW) PAC!

NOW PAC has endorsed Rick Larsen

This organization does important work advocating for gender equality, and has been helping uplift feminist voices in Congress, state and local governments, and the White House for decades. I will always advocate for women's rights — but I am especially proud to stand alongside the activists at NOW PAC to drive progress for women at a time when basic rights are under attack by right-wing extremists.

Like so many of you, I continue to be outraged by the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and the raft of attacks on reproductive freedom that have come since this radical holding. The Supreme Court opted to constrain reproductive freedom in frightening and dangerous ways, striking a blow to our basic constitutional rights of liberty, privacy, and equality – which is why the American people overwhelmingly oppose the decision.

Republican leaders have promised that they will seek a nationwide abortion ban if they take over Congress in November. This is what we are up against this fall, and it is why the work of NOW PAC and their endorsed candidates is so important today.

I will continue to fight hard to keep abortion safe and legal here in Washington and codify abortion rights nationwide in federal law. Last fall, I joined a majority in the House to pass the Women's Health Protection Act, which would do exactly that, but it is currently being blocked by Republicans in the Senate. We cannot allow anti-choice extremists to gain any ground in Congress.

It is not just about reproductive freedom. Guaranteeing a woman's ability to make her own health care decisions, ensuring women get equal pay for equal work, and pushing for stronger economic opportunity are fundamental to quality of life for all of us. I will continue to do everything I can in Congress and at home here in Northwest Washington to further enshrine these rights. We are all better for it.
