The human consequences of their choices

As the House faces another continuing resolution to keep our federal government running, this is a good chance to remind ourselves that, if things were to shut down, there would be very real human consequences.

Food assistance to low-income families could be interrupted. Vital transportation projects for Northwest Washington could be paused. Head Start programs might be temporarily shut down.

Those are just a few examples. The big picture is that, if and when a government shuts down, it deals a significant blow not just to our economy, but to the lives of every family trying to just get by right now.

Like I said: human consequences.

The chaos culture being endlessly pushed by Republicans in Washington D.C. is unsustainable and directly to blame for this loop, of having our government nearly shut down over and over.

The 2024 election this November is our chance to say loudly and clearly that there is a better way. Please chip in right now to fund our organizing efforts to take back the House later this year.

The fact that this keeps happening reminds me of an old saying: fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...well, you know how it goes.

The simple fact is that Republicans in Washington, D.C. right now cannot be trusted to run the government, because they have been looking for every opportunity to run it off the rails.

Our opportunity to do something about it comes in just 11 short months, in this November's general election.

End the chaos. End the carelessness. Please pitch in just $6 right now to help build grassroots momentum for a big Democratic win this November.

More soon.
