Looking ahead...
I am heartbroken over the murder of George Floyd. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and too many others are victims of racial violence.
There is still a lot of work to do to combat systemic racism in our country, and I, like many of you, am committed to that fight.
I am continuing to reach out to local community leaders who represent the broad diversity of the 2nd District to discuss additional actions I can take to address racism, police brutality and violence.
I hope to be able to speak with you in person someday soon to hear your concerns. But until that time comes, I want you to know that I am working hard on behalf of everyone in our communities.
I would also like to ask if you will join my team. With nine weeks until Washington state's August 4 primary and six weeks until ballots are mailed out, we are launching our field program. I hope you will join us virtually this week.
As social distancing remains critically important for our communities, we have shifted to entirely virtual operations. Though we have moved online, the grassroots nature of our campaign remains the same. I will keep working for your support.
