Trump's Supreme Court pick
Last night President Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The reality is sobering; another far-right justice will change the face of our judicial system for decades to come.
In the past weeks, even when Justice Kennedy was still serving, we have already seen devastating decisions, from upholding Trump's discriminatory travel ban to taking away worker protections to chipping away at Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose.
I cannot emphasize enough, your participation in our democracy has real-world implications. Now we must defend what were once regarded as judicial precedents, like reproductive choice, marriage equality, and environmental protections.
Even against overwhelming odds, we must fight for what's right. With an unpredictable President in the White House and a right-leaning Supreme Court, our best path forward is electing a Democratic-majority in Congress.
