Tell the rest of Congress that enough is enough
Gun violence is an epidemic that has affected too many people. For years, legislation to prevent gun violence has been a nonstarter, but I believe, as a country, this must be the turning point.
I have called on members on both sides of the aisle to work with me on gun violence prevention. We must: ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines;
- lift the ban on federally-funded research into the causes of gun violence;
- strengthen our system of background checks.
Members of Congress, grassroots organizations, and thousands of people around the country have come together to demand action to stop gun violence, will you add your name?
No single law can prevent the actions of a madman, but there are actions we can take to save lives. There comes a time when – no matter the odds – you have to say ‘enough is enough’ and act.
It's up to us to take meaningful action right now to protect our children and our communities.
From closing loopholes in the background check system to getting assault weapons off of our streets, there are plenty of real solutions to fight for – but we need to take immediate action.
