Rep. Rick Larsen Releases New Radio Ad in Northwest Washington

EVERETT, WA – As he continues to visit with constituents at area forums, events, and through door-to-door visits as part of his re-election campaign, Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) today released a new radio advertisement to air throughout in Northwest Washington.

The 60 second spot highlights Rep. Larsen’s long commitment to environmental issues, and fight to combat climate change. Audio of the ad can be heard at: http://www.ricklarsen.org/2016/10/18/new-radio-ads-and-mail-pieces.

“I firmly believe the largest environmental issue facing the nation is man-made climate change. We must curb the devastating effects of greenhouse gas emissions,” said Rep. Larsen. “I am proud of my strong environmental record. We only have one planet, and I will continue the fight to protect it.”

Rep. Larsen has long supported rational energy policies that support research funding, technology and tax credits to grow our investment in clean energy and create new jobs in the private sector. He is in favor of cap and trade, which would use market-based incentives to reduce carbon emissions, and supports the President's Clean Power Plan to dramatically reduce carbon emissions from fossil fuel based power plants.

In addition, Rep. Larsen has led efforts to preserve the wildlife, lands and waters that make the Pacific Northwest unique is important to maintaining a healthy economy and a high quality of life now and for future generations. That includes protecting Illabot Creek, the San Juan Islands National Monument, and the Wild Sky Wilderness in order to restore critical habitats and safeguard our lands and economy for future generations, as well as pushing for the permanent reauthorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which has been critical to protecting public lands in Northwest Washington for 50 years and which has helped preserve open spaces including Ebey’s Reserve, Chuckanut Bay, and the Wild Sky Wilderness.
