Help Me Reduce Gun Violence
This week President Obama announced new executive orders aiming to help reduce gun violence in the United States.
I support the President’s action to close a loophole by expanding background checks and increase mental health treatment to help reduce gun-related deaths and violence in our country. I urged the President in November to close these loopholes and I'm glad he's moving forward.
Congress needs to follow the lead of President Obama and pass common sense laws to keep our communities safe. That's why I support legislation to ban high-capacity magazines and to strengthen our background check system.
