Larsen Endorsed by Washington State Labor Council

Everett, WA — The Washington State Labor Council (WSLC) has endorsed U.S. Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02) for a sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

"I am honored to have the support of the Washington State Labor Council during these tough economic times," said Rep. Larsen. "With so many folks still concerned about job security and making enough to put food on the table, I am humbled to have the backing of the hardworking men and women of the largest labor organization in the state. I will continue fighting to get people back to work and to build a foundation for future economic growth that will support good jobs and working families well into the future."

"Representative Rick Larsen has been a champion for labor in the U.S. House of Representatives," said Rick Bender, President of the Washington State Labor Council. "Members of the Washington State Labor Council know that he is fighting day in and day out to improve the lives of working families and get our economy back on track."

"Workers in this community know that Representative Rick Larsen will continue to be a strong voice for us," said Mike Sells, Secretary and Treasurer of the Snohomish County Labor Council. "Whether it’s voting for affordable health care or working to grow our economy, he is constantly standing up for the needs of local workers. As we continue to struggle in this recession, we need Rep. Larsen so we can make sure our workforce has a friend in Congress."

There are currently more than 500 local unions affiliated with the Washington State Labor Council, representing approximately 400,000 union members from across the state, including members from the Snohomish County Labor Council and the Northwest Labor Council. The WSLC is the largest labor organization in Washington state.
